Description:
Flophouse: The Untold Story..... It all began in someone's garage in 2005, as a bunch of Guitar Center employees getting together after work to blow off some steam and jam. What culminated from these sessions became the musical foundation for what would later be known as FLOPHOUSE. A St.Patty's Day gig proved to be the motivation needed for these guys to get serious and write some tunes. Comprised of 4 members from 4 different bands, Flophouse began writing and rehearsing their original compositions. All the members of Flophouse are seasoned veterans in the music business and often work in cooperation w/ members of SPONGE, TANTRIC, and THE ORIGINAL PARLIAMENT FUNKADELICS. The band is also currently working with 97.1 LIVE FREE FM Sports Radio for all of the DETORIT LION'S Home Games at Ford Field; as well as, writing/performing the theme song for the Sean Baligian Show and Parker and the Man. This band is straight up FUNKY. Their sound is an amalgam of styles from Funk/Soul to High-Energy Roots-Rock. ****check out Flophouse's new EP "Get Loose" available NOW on iTunes and cdbaby.com!! History:
Flophouse is: on vocals and rhythm guitar is Cleveland native Victor Colon (Loud Love). Victor began as a singer/songwriter in 1994 and moved to the Detroit/Toledo area in 2003 to pursue a music career. On lead guitar is the youngest of the band, Mike "Hollywood" Adkins (Silicone Sunday, Juline Jordan). Mike hails from Livonia, MI and is strongly influenced by rock, and rhythm and blues. The bass is stroked by Paul "P-dog" Hunt (ManAlive) from Ypsilanti, MI. Rooted in the Detroit hip-hop scene, Paul was exposed to a wide variety of music at an early age. Also known to rock the wheels of steel. The drums beat in thanks to Brian "Super B" Smith (60 Second Crush, Vietnam Prom)- King of the Kick!!! Beginning at the age of 12, Brian originally from New York, came to Michigan at 18 and has been drumming locally ever since. Last, but certainly not least is our DH...secret weapon...Peter Keyz (SEEPEOPLES, Original Parliament Funkadelics). Peter resides in Plymouth and owns and operates a recording studio called Shock Logic Productions.
